KID FRIENDLY HOTELS IN ITALY AND FRENCH RIVIERA
With the summer season coming our mind is inevitably thinking about new destinations to discover…And so, where to go? With kids in the party the equally important question is: which hotel to choose? An hotel permitting us not to carry the travel cot, the high chair and other stuff extremely makes our life easier! The feeling not to be unpleasant guests improve parents’ relaxation! And then here are some suggested kid friendly hotels in Italy and French Riviera tried by a local family. In fact we tried them all directly, with our first child. When she was from 0 to 3 years old.
KID FRIENDLY HOTELS FOR WELNESS WEEKENDS IN ITALY
…PIEDMONT REGION
As coming from Liguria, for us Piedmont is a great stop for a weekend, which allows us to connect good food, good wine with things to see and excellent facilities equipped with wellness centers and swimming pools.
VERNANTE, RELAIS DEL NAZIONALE
We are in the mountains, near the Limone Piemonte plants. Do not expect a structure for families only, but a very child friendly relais de charme. Children are welcome, and can access the lovely wellness center until 6.00 pm (of course excluding sauna and Turkish bath, which are not indicated anyway!). There is also a service with an excellent nanny, if you want to enjoy a few hours of total relaxation. Excellent restaurant in front, of the same property. Very characteristic rooms, you will be pampered by the staff. Tip: book well in advance because it has few rooms and is almost always full.
Children under 2 years: free, if they stay in existing beds. 15 euros per day if they sleep in the cot / crib added.
30 euros per day for older children, who sleep in the extra bed.

SOLONGHELLO, LOCANDA DELL’ARTE
This is the first hotel where our daughter stayed when she was less than three months old! Very nice and spacious structure. The rooms are also very large. Tip: if you have strollers or prams get a room on the ground floor. Pleasant spa with sauna and a rather large pool, I remember the water a bit cold for Laura, but in fact she was really very small. The Hotel restaurant is also excellent. We recommend checking which days it is open only on request. Nearby do not miss a trip to the Sanctuary of Crea, UNESCO site. It is 7 km away and is accessible with a wheelchair / stroller.

CERRETTO LANGHE, TRATTORIA DEL BIVIO
In the upper Langa, near Alba. Structure on the road, well cared for inside. Pretty rooms, small pool and a bit cold water for the truth. The hot tub deserves to be discovered and operated when you arrive. The latter is at perfect temperature even for very young children. Also noteworthy is the hotel restaurant, very refined and frequented also by external ones.

…AOSTA VALLEY
COGNE, HOTEL SANT’ORSO E WELNESS LE BOIS
We are in the center of Cogne. At the foot of the Gran Paradiso massif, in the vast Sant’Orso prairie. Idyllic and ideal location, with games for children both in summer and in winter. Here you will find all the comforts even in case of snow: covered garage with direct access to the rooms and the spa, within walking distance. Nearby are also the cross-country skiing trails. For mountaineering skiing you have to take the Gran Paradiso cable car and there are some pleasant red runs in the woods. We recommend it, though, especially if skiing is not your priority or if children are still too young to be experienced skiers. In this case you can take them to the Snow Park just outside the hotel: reserved baby track, with instructors available, and for the little ones, games for guaranteed fun!
Warm and spacious indoor pool, new and really beautiful spa. It also has an additional sauna and a heated outdoor whirlpool: try the snow! Access reserved for children under 12 from 10 to 17. Presence of games room and cinema room for younger guests. Babysitting service available. Excellent hotel cuisine, the gastronomic offer of Cogne still deserves to be tried!

COGNE, PETIT HOTEL – FAMILY HOTEL
Comfortable 3-star hotel in the center of Cogne, with an eye to price. It also offers convenient family rooms for two adults and two children. All spaces, activities, schedules, services are designed for children, for their enjoyment and safety. It has a restaurant, a swimming pool where children always have free access, a games room and two owls to mascot and amaze your little ones. The hotel is also equipped with free parking and for the summer garden with sunbeds and playground. From 2017 it has also opened the new La Chouette wellness center, to which hotel guests – including children – can access for free every day from 4pm to 8pm. For exteriors it is also possible to book the center for exclusive use by reservation: cost € 35.00 per person for two hours of use.

FORTE DI BARD, HOTEL CAVOUR ET DES OFFICIERS
Yes, you have understood correctly. In this hotel you will sleep right inside the Forte di Bard, in the rooms obtained from the halls of the old garrison, in the Opera Carlo Alberto (the one located higher up). It has only 11 rooms. Room rates include breakfast and parking at the base of the fortress. In the immediate vicinity are the exhibition halls and the museum ticket office. Cyclically interesting photographic exhibitions are hosted. From 4 February to 4 June 2017, for example, “Wildlife Photography of the year”, with the 100 images most? spectacular of 2016 of the animal and plant world, according to the Natural History Museum in London. The Museum of the Alps and the Prisons are always open to visitors. For the small enthusiasts you should also know that recently the Fort was the main site where? “Avengers Age of Ultron” was filmed. The shooting of the heroes pi? powerful people of the Earth had also involved Aosta, Verres and Pont-Saint-Martin.

GUBBIO, PARK HOTEL DEI CAPPUCCINI
It is a former 17th century convent on the outskirts of Gubbio. Is it an oasis of peace and well-being, thanks also to the great Spa? with area accessible to children? which was the main reason for our choice. The Hotel is not cheap, but outside of bridges and holidays? You can check acceptable rates. Moreover the place deserves, also for the room and the vast hall with living room, fireplace and a giant Christmas tree that our daughter will appreciate very much! Find here the story of our weekend in Umbria, during the Christmas festivities! The Wellness area includes a first space of 350 square meters with a swimming pool for free swimming, plus a baby bath and hydromassage area at 30 degrees. Separate there is also a pool for counter-current swimming: the whole family will greatly appreciate the pool area, accessible to children from 9.30 to 13.30 and from 15.30 to 18.00. A second area, with access for a fee and for adults only, offers two hot tubs. One added with magnesium and potassium, and finally a thalasso tank. We did not try the restaurant, but Gubbio offers interesting solutions.

…EMILIA ROMAGNA
VARIGNANA (BOLOGNA), PALAZZO DI VARIGNANA RESORT
At 25 km from Bologna, you will be immersed in a large park. The resort is located in an elegantly restored eighteenth-century villa. Varsana SPA is a vast and elegant wellness area with indoor pool, counter-current swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath. Children under 16 can access from 9.00 to 13.30. In summer you can also enjoy several outdoor swimming pools and from April 2017 the main outdoor pool will be connected to the internal one by a telescopic glass cover. It will therefore become usable throughout the year; starting from the same date, an outdoor play area will also be activated, next to the children’s recreational pool and the outdoor play area. Tip: book in advance your use of the wellness center for the 3 hours you have available. We did not use the internal restaurant.

All children under 12 of age pay 90 euro per night and can use extra beds (max. 2 per room).

RIMINI, HOTEL TOURING
We know that in Rimini the quality standards of hotel facilities, and those for families in particular, are above average. So surely you will find many child friendly solutions. However, as you may have noticed, we love swimming pools and spas, we opted for this hotel, where our pergola could access the pool. We did not use the restaurant, too large for our tastes, also because the culinary scene of Rimini offers excellent solutions at very convenient prices.
Children 0-3 years: free with the possibility of adding a cot / crib. Children up to 6 years: free if they sleep with their parents.
Children over 6 years or over 3 years sleeping in an extra bed: book a triple room.

VENEZIA, HOTEL GIUDECCA
A hotel in Venice was needed. We can recommend it for children primarily for the location. The island of Giudecca is a very quiet place to be in Venice, and well served by vaporetti, so it is suitable for traveling comfortably even with a pram or stroller. Furthermore the staff is extremely kind: Laura had a fever during the stay and the staff was really friendly giving us all the information and all the necessary support. They also provide useful tips on where to eat and a city map. Tip: book a lot in advance because given the good value for money (to be in Venice), it fills up quickly.
Children under 3: free if they sleep with their parents, € 10 a night for a cot / crib.

ACAYA (LECCE), DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON ACAYA RESORT
Ideally located for visiting Lecce and the Salento and for playing golf. In fact, it hosts a golf course and a golf course. It also has two outdoor pools, an indoor heated pool for children and a large spa for adults. Restaurant with Michelin-starred chef.
Children under 4 years: free, with the possibility to ask for a free cot / crib in the room.
Children under 18: free when sleeping in existing beds (there are also double rooms with two queen-size beds).
…FRENCH RIVIERA
ANTIBES, HOTEL BAIE DES ANGES BY THALAZUR
A 12-minute drive from the center of Antibes – a truly worthwhile location for a visit – is this residence-hotel. We were very good, for the kindness of the staff, for the nice room and the nice SPA center (sauna, turkish bath, Jacuzzi and swimming pool). It also offers thalasso therapy treatments. Children can access from 12 to 14 and from 17 to 20.
Children under 2 years: free. Cribs / cribs available.
Above 2 years extra beds are not available. You can still opt for a triple room.
